When someone stands near me during exam!!

When someone stands near me it creates a different situation always.Suppose I’m in the exam hall and Lecture comes and tries to see what I’m writing, then my hands stops. I start behaving like I’m thinking. Well If I do not care of what other think, then I’ll write what they expecting from me ;)

I have always a problem in exam hall. If someone stand near me, then I’m going to stop writing.Well sometimes reason is different depending upon the someone(he/she). ;)

I’m not comfortable when someone stands near me while writing in the #exam. Same applicable to #coding too.

How you are to going to copy crap from Google and pasting in your project!!. How you are going to write inline css/js. How you are going to code which is not as per the coding standard :)

Here how we can set pagination for any content.
<div id=”jpages-list”><span>Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.</span><span>Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.</span></div>
We can set inside div ,span etc. Inside that div we can set different section like span , div etc.
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..”, comes from a line in section 1.10.32.There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don’t look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn’t anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.

Cybersquatting

Cybersquatting is another name of domain squatting. It is registering, trafficking in, or using a domain name with bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else. The cybersquatter  sell the domain to the person or company who owns a trademark contained within the name at a much higher price.
Efforts to curtail cybersquatting in social media
Social networking websites have attempted to stop cybersquatting, making cybersquatting a violation of their terms of service. In Twitter and facebook both do a phone verification for user before a registration.

There are many popular cases of Cybersquatting

Nissan Motors vs. Nissan Computer is a case involving the two companies over usage of the name Nissan and the domain name nissan.com. But the case was in favor of  Nissan Computer as Uzi Nissan is the owner of the company.

It is very much important keep these in mind before buying a domain name as Nissan Vs Nissan is the longest battle over Cybersquatting. Sometimes, paying the cybersquatter is the best choice. It may cheaper and quicker than filing a lawsuit or initiating an arbitration hearing.
What You Can Do to Fight a Cybersquatter
A victim of cybersquatting in the United States has two options:

  • sue under the provisions of the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA), or
  • use an international arbitration system created by the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

Cybersquatter or domain squatting is also another long term investment for future. ;)

Project fork in open source

In software engineering, a project fork usually happens when developers take a copy of source code  and start independent development on it. It easily happens in open source projects. There are many versions of linux and Unix* because of forks. Another one is Microsoft SQL Server  from Sybase SQL Server.

Here is some important lists:

If we consider the case of WordPress,it evolved from b2/CafeLog and now someone planning to fork WordPress, because today WordPress is no more a blogging platform. They are trying to make a platform called ghost.

There was another WordPress fork started WordPress MU, but has been merged back into WordPress itself again!

If we look into the WordPress Plugins, then there is a good example of WooCommerce. WooThemes forks Jigoshop into WooCommerce. Now WooCommerce has taken over e-Commerce market in WordPress.

*See UNIX wars.

**It’s just a rough/unfinished idea at this point

Two year In Mindfire!!!

08/ 29/2011 will remain always a memorable day for me.  I got joining letter on this date. Mindfire was the 7th company in my interview list. Before that I was rejected 6 times. Seems like i had completed a week by joining here. :) I can’t imagine those hard days of dark and fear.

Well after getting selected , also it was never easy for a guy like me to survive. Many ups & down have came and still coming.Sometimes this job thrills and sometimes it kills. Still I’m confused in between To B.E and Not To B.E. My turned here 180 degree. I have never read anything  seriously  before joining here. Anyway you need to read/understand the new things to work. I never code in c-lab during college days but here we need to code till late night.

Being a software engineer, you need to face some serious issues like work life balance, missing few local holidays, family gathering. But It ain’t that bad.Anyway you are getting two days as holiday per week. You hardly get this chance any other job.

Addiction to coffee /tea…. It’s a integral part of all software engineer. They will take always  extra tea/coffee. Also another addiction is cigaret for software engineer .Well I never smoke . I was never so addicted to coffee before joining here. Due to this you’ll extra pound weight gradually with your salary.

You will face always wired issues here. Server/browser/css/IE  :( or may be a bug that you only can find and tester or user can’t :D.

Anyway I’m feeling excited after completing two year after hurdles :)

Man and Machine/Technology in Software Industry

Machine are necessary for current days. Now we are highly dependent on machine. No machine, No work. These machine need people to operate it. I mean we have to control these machine to accomplish our job. Well in our software industry, we have computer  to do our projects. We are so addicted to our system that we waking  up with mail checking and going to lunch thinking about project deadlines and going to bed with Facebook.

We work hard for  8 – 10 hrs, so our system remains open more than 10hrs. they have to suffer the same load also. When they get over heated, We are there to restart or cool them down. But what about us. Who will take care of us. We should. We should take break in each hour. We should take leaves frequently.

Social media has taken over our lives. People are going more for social media. They are preferring online interaction rather than offline healthy interaction. How machine/technology has taken over our lives. We do everything online. We search virtual friends over internet. Now People need fans not friends over Facebook. They are so much interested for his friend list. Social media has taken over our lives as well as our privacy. If there is no Google world may stop to spin, but world can spin without Facebook.

We are so controlled by technology, we can’t live without them.It reminds me the science fiction movie  Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines . Our lives may get controlled by these supercomputer. these super machines.  We are producing the highly efficient brains with artificial intelligence and with no EQ.

What is EOD for software engineer

EOD technically means end of the day, but it hardly exsits. It never ends for some unlucky one.
When day starts in the morning, there is a waiting for EOD.We hope that We’ll finish up the job and will retun
home. Many things works in between them from tea to table tennis. But code hardly works in first half.It generally works
before EOD.Now you are finished up with task by copy & paste or unfortunately you have to write your own code that. Any way you are finished up and you can come home or can watch a night show.

Situations changes when codes do not work!!!. You will not want to be near of EOD.Now you are wanting more time but no way out. It’s 9.30, still you are not finished up. Now EOD is actually End of the Developer. :(

If you are surviving anyway after EOD you can take rest by thinking about saving your ass for the next days. It’s a short description about EOD.

I always  find code to copy&paste but I didn’t find anything to copy & paste this time. :(
